Door Holders

What is a Door Holder?

Door Holders are people who have been on the inside and experienced Jesus and are willing to open the door for others to be welcomed in. The term comes from Psalm 84:10.

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
— Psalm 84:10

We use the term “Door Holder” instead of the word “volunteer” or “leader” because we think it better embraces the spirit we are after. Our Door Holder team considers it a privilege to serve and use their gifts to prepare the way for others to have a powerful experience with Jesus. We may have many roles, but at the end of the day, we are all door holders.

  • Our door holder team will meet once a month for a time of community building, training, and planning. Our door holders will also be expected to attend and help facilitate events on Sunday nights.

  • You will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of ways both inside and outside the church. We want to help you discover your gifts and use them. You can see a specific list of roles when you apply.

  • All of us are created with gifts and abilities that God has given us to build up His Church and further His mission in the world. Our hope is that as students serve as door holders, they will discover their gifts and then use them in meaningful ways in the community.
